NUTRITION IN PATIENTS WITH CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

1. Eat fish twice a week.

The omega-3 fatty acids in the fish decrease blood concentration of triglycerides and reduce the risk of thrombosis. Fish oil supplement is an option out of the fish season.

2. Get rid of your excess weight.

Excessive body fat increases the risk of heart attack. You may seek help from a specialist to reach your ideal body weight.

3. Eat foods that are rich in fiber.

Eat legumes, bran products, oatmeal, vegetables and fruits, which are rich in dietary fibers that decrease blood cholesterol.

4. Do not stay inactive

Inactive life increases the risk of coronary diseases. Regular exercises are crucial for cardiac health.

5. Choose the correct fats.
